About the Role:
Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in the community? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced OT who thrives on delivering high-quality, person-centred care. In this role, you will work closely with clients to assess, plan, and implement tailored occupational therapy and rehabilitation programs. You will manage a diverse caseload, ensuring that each client receives effective and safe services that promote independence, health, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Therapeutic Planning and Clinical Delivery:
- Conduct comprehensive, person-centred OT assessments to optimize clients’ daily activities, wellbeing, and leisure within the community.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments.
- Manage a caseload, providing therapeutic interventions, education, counseling, and care tailored to each client.
- Deliver both verbal and written reports to team members and external stakeholders.
- Act as a consultant on OT rehabilitation issues and engage in community development projects.
- Regularly evaluate and adjust OT plans to ensure that client goals are met and promote self-management.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with health professionals and clinical teams to ensure outcome-focused treatment.
- Effectively communicate clients’ needs and goals across various services and care settings.
- Partner with clients and caregivers to support care arrangements that facilitate goal achievement.
Administration:
- Complete all client documentation in line with legislative, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Maintain professional skills and meet Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
- Prepare reports for leadership and coordinate resources for efficient service delivery.
- Provide supporting documentation for home modifications and identify areas for improvement.
- Communicate respectfully with clients, representatives, staff, and the community.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current full registration with AHPRA.
- 2+ years of experience in occupational therapy.
- Experience in prescribing aids, equipment, and home modifications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Client Management Systems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Current Driver’s Licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle.
- National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old).
