They focus on recovery and function to get clients back to work and back to living their life to the fullest, whatever their age, stage, or situation. Their personal injury division provides services through federal and state-based Workers Compensation, Motor Accident Schemes and Life Insurance along with supporting Veteran Affairs.

The position of Rehabilitation Consultant – OT/Physio or Exercise Physiologist:

We are looking for a fully AHPRA Registered Occupational Therapist who is either happy to relocate to the Darwin area or lives locally. If you are looking to make the move away from either aged care, hospital or NDIS and move into the professional services area of occupational rehab, then we would love to hear from you.

You will be supporting your clients through their whole rehabilitation journey. You will become a rehab expert and act as the participant’s advocate and their educator as you guide them through what can be a tough process for them.

Their success comes from having a more holistic approach and from leaning in to the expertise and experience of a large, supportive multidisciplinary team, to support their client’s journey from rehab to healing.

As a Rehab Consultant you will be responsible for :

  • Advocate for people who feel disempowered to advocate for their own recovery and health
  • Conduct assessments to help guide people towards recovery and health – this could include functional capacity evaluations, worksite, ergonomic or activities of daily living assessments
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including the employee who has suffered the injury, illness, or trauma, medical specialists, and other treatment providers
  • Work across various industry portfolios including Veterans affairs
  • Working with treatment providers to ensure the best recovery outcomes for your clients
  • Develop graduated return plans by liaising doctors regarding appropriate timeframes and goals
  • Case managing physical issues and liaising with treating health professionals

What you need to be considered:

  • Tertiary qualifications as an Occupational Therapist/ Physio or Exercise Physiologist
  • Must have a current AHPRA Registration or relevant registration with associated governing body
  • A passion for helping people navigate complex rehabilitation plans
  • Demonstrated clinical reasoning and critical thinking
  • Ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support the achievement of a common goal
  • Occupational Rehabilitation experience is highly desirable but not essential
  • Strong client focus and the ability to build relationships with a range of people
  • A current, or ability to hold a Working with Children Check
