HSEQT Superintendent

The Opportunity:

Our client, a respected mining contractor known for its expertise in delivering safe and efficient mining operations, is seeking a skilled and experienced HSEQT Superintendent to join their team. With a strong commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, this is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role in managing HSEQT systems across the client’s mining projects.

The Role:

As an HSEQT Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the HSEQT function within mining operations, ensuring the highest levels of safety compliance, environmental management, and quality assurance. You will lead a team and support management in promoting a strong safety culture, implementing risk management systems, and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations. This role will also see you drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing operational safety and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of HSEQT policies and procedures across mining operations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, including hazard assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement, ensuring employee engagement and adherence to best practices.
  • Manage and report on HSEQT performance metrics to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with site management and clients to ensure the smooth integration of HSEQT practices within mining operations.

The Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in HSEQT within the mining industry.
  • Strong experience in managing HSEQT programs within mining operations, including risk management and incident investigation.
  • In-depth knowledge of mining regulations, environmental compliance, and quality management standards.
  • Experience leading a team and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
