The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Clinicians, Social Worker, Mental Health Nurse, Counsellor or Mental Health Occupational Therapists
to work across Community Mental Health Settings You will deliver outreach and in-clinic services for children, adolescents and adults experiencing mental health challenges. You’ll also provide aftercare support, suicide prevention interventions and family engagement in a culturally safe and community-centred way.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide culturally appropriate assessments, interventions, and therapeutic support to children, youth, and families
* Deliver suicide prevention and aftercare services under a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented model
* Collaborate with local health teams, community groups, schools, NGOs, police, and primary care providers
* Provide consultation, training, and support to stakeholders on child and youth mental health
* Participate in case planning, care reviews, clinical outreach and crisis response services
* Maintain accurate records, complete reports and adhere to program KPIs
* Deliver education and community engagement activities focused on early intervention and prevention
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be passionate about child and youth mental health and have experience working in a clinical and/or community setting.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, Counsellor or mental health Occupational Therapist
* Registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership for AASW or ACA with a relevant professional body
* Experience in mental health or suicide prevention, ideally with children, young people and families
* Strong understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act and Children & Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act
* Excellent communication, organisational, and computer skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* A current unrestricted NSW driver’s licence
* Willingness to travel within the region
Desirable:
* Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants strongly encouraged to apply
* Mental Health First Aid and/or additional suicide prevention training
* Knowledge of community-led healthcare and regional Aboriginal communities
