Hello! my name is Bryony from the mining recruitment team at Zenith Search. I’m currently recruiting for Underground Production Mining Engineers across multiple underground operations here in WA. Are you passionate about a career in underground mining? If you love drilling into cycle efficiency, analysing shift KPIs, and fine-tuning plans to squeeze out every bit of productivity (safely!), this one’s for you.

I’m looking for someone who has prior experience in underground mining, whether you have just finished your graduate program or have worked across this space and have extensive experience in underground hard rock mining. Our clients are spread across from mid-tier to tier I operations and our depth and knowledge allows us to consult on your career development plan, aspirations, and management style.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key driver of the mine’s day-to-day performance, working closely with operations to ensure production targets are met… bonus points if exceeded. Expect to dig into tasks like:

• Developing and issuing detailed daily and weekly production plans, aligned with drill-and-blast, loading, trucking, and back filling sequences
• Monitoring shift performance and analysing production KPIs such as advance per round, bog tonnes, equipment utilisation, cycle times, and compliance to plan
• Identifying and resolving operational blocks through data-driven troubleshooting
• Providing technical support for underground crews, ensuring mining methods, ground control requirements, and sequencing are followed effectively
• Highlighting risks, constraints, and improvement opportunities – then building smart, practical solutions
• Collaborating with planning, geotechnical, and operations teams to keep the mining front progressing efficiently and safely
