The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse – Mental Health to provide specialist mental health and drug and alcohol assessment, care planning and case management services. You will play a key role in supporting individuals, families and communities experiencing mental health challenges, working within an integrated and recovery-focused care model.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialist mental health and drug & alcohol assessments, care planning and case management
- Providing clinical interventions, consultation and liaison with internal and external services
- Promoting recovery-oriented, patient-centred care aligned with evidence-based practice
- Delivering education, training, promotion and prevention activities for communities, carers and partner services
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation, care plans and progress notes in line with policy and standards
- Participating in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
- Engaging in professional development, clinical supervision, mentoring and service development activities
- Participating in outreach services and leave relief as required
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and key stakeholders to ensure seamless, high-quality care delivery across the region.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum two (2) years’ clinical experience in mental health and/or drug & alcohol services
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with intermediate computer literacy (MS Office)
- Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based practice and critical thinking in person-centred care
- Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A strong commitment to recovery-oriented practice and patient-centred care
- Demonstrated commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to improve health outcomes
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining clinical competence
- Current NSW driver’s licence
