HSE ADVISOR – PORT HEDLAND
CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE & MARINE OPERATIONS | TIER 2 CIVIL CONTRACTOR
$180K+ Super | 2/1 Roster
The Opportunity:
A leading Tier 2 civil contractor is seeking an HSE Advisor to join their Port Hedland team, supporting shorebase, workshop, and major industrial operations across multiple high-value resources projects. This newly created role provides increased HSE coverage on construction, maintenance, and marine works in the Northwest of WA.
You will work predominantly day shifts on a 2/1 FIFO roster, with occasional nightshifts, reporting to the QHSE Manager. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you will engage directly with operations teams to ensure compliance with WHS obligations and contractual requirements.
The Role:
As HSE Advisor, your responsibilities will include:

Conducting workplace inspections and audits

Leading ICAM incident investigations

Facilitating risk assessments and workshops with local stakeholders

Preparing and updating technical procedures, safe work method statements, and risk management documentation

Delivering toolbox talks, presentations, and workforce engagement activities

Supporting both internal and external HSE reporting, including trend analysis and recommendations
This role requires practical, adaptable HSE support with strong verbal communication skills to engage a predominantly blue-collar workforce.
What We’re Looking For:

Cert IV in HSE (mandatory) and Construction Safety Induction (white card)

Minimum 5 years’ relevant HSE experience in construction, mining, or oil & gas (flexible for strong candidates)

Experience in inspections, investigations (ICAM), and risk management

Strong technical writing skills for procedures, SWMS, and reports

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage operational teams
-
Ability to fit into and support a collaborative, adaptable team environment

WA-based candidates preferred
