Production Mining Engineers – Open Pit

Open Pit Production Engineer – Gold Operation

An opportunity exists for an experienced Open Pit Production Engineer to join a well-established gold mining operation, operating on a FIFO roster from Perth (8:6).

This role is suited to a technically strong mining engineer with a solid background in Open Pit Production and a focus on delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day production engineering support to open pit mining operations

  • Develop, review, and implement short-term mine plans, weekly and monthly schedules

  • Monitor, analyse, and reconcile production performance against budget and plan

  • Support drill and blast design, execution, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Optimise mining sequences, equipment utilisation, and haulage efficiencies

  • Identify and manage geotechnical, operational, and production risks within the pit

  • Work closely with mining operations, geology, survey, and technical services teams

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost control measures

  • Ensure all activities comply with site safety systems, statutory requirements, and company standards

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in open pit mining engineering

  • Previous experience in gold operations will be highly regarded

  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both operational and technical stakeholders

Eligibility Requirements

  • Full Australian working rights (essential)

  • Currently based in Western Australia

  • Ability to work FIFO from Perth on an 8:6 roster
