Senior Clinical Advisor – Youth Mental Health
Location: Based in Brisbane with occasional travel to Hervey Bay & Maryborough
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed-term until February 2027 (high possibility of extension)
Pay: $108,000 – $120,000 + Super + Salary Packaging (up to $18,550)

The Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) to provide strategic clinical oversight within a dynamic youth mental health setting.
As Senior Clinical Advisor, you will play a critical leadership role in strengthening clinical governance, supporting complex decision-making, and mentoring early career social workers and clinicians. You will work closely with Clinical Centre Managers to oversee triage, referral allocation, caseload reviews and service demand management.
This role is ideal for a highly experienced social worker who is confident leading reflective supervision, embedding trauma-informed and recovery-oriented frameworks, and driving continuous quality improvement across services.
Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced clinical leadership and consultation to multidisciplinary teams

Deliver supervision and mentoring to early career social workers and university students

Offer expert advice and escalation support on complex youth mental health presentations

Support triage, intake, referral allocation and caseload review processes

Lead clinical governance initiatives, including documentation standards and audit processes

Drive service innovation and contribute to new project development

Promote evidence-based, trauma-informed and youth-centred practice frameworks

What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Nursing or an Allied Health discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, or Occupational Therapy
- Full AHPRA registration or AASW membership, with Medicare (MBS) billing eligibility

Extensive experience in youth mental health and complex casework

Advanced skills in psychosocial assessment, risk assessment and care coordination

Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision and mentoring

Strong knowledge of clinical governance and continuous quality improvement processes

Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel occasionally
