Salary: $120,000 – $130,000 + relocation assistance

The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse Unit Manager to lead a Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Reporting within a senior leadership structure, you will have responsibility for both the clinical and operational leadership of the Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit, overseeing a multidisciplinary workforce and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing multidisciplinary clinical teams within an acute inpatient setting
- Overseeing all clinical and operational aspects of the Mental Health Acute Inpatient Unit
- Working in partnership with psychiatrists and senior clinicians to deliver integrated care
- Ensuring compliance with Victorian mental health legislation and recovery-oriented frameworks
- Driving clinical leadership, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
- Supporting, mentoring, and developing staff both operationally and strategically
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong leadership capability combined with deep clinical expertise in mental health services.
You will ideally have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the delivery of mental health services
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Victorian mental health legislation, regulation, and contemporary practice
- AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing (Diploma or Masters), or a recognised specialist undergraduate Mental Health Nursing program
- Qualifications in Leadership or Management (highly desirable)
