Senior Underground Geologist

We are seeking a Senior Underground Geologist to join a growing gold operation, playing a key role in both the technical and leadership aspects of the mine’s geology function. This is an opportunity to work on a well-defined narrow vein gold deposit, contributing to both short-term production and longer-term resource development within a project offering strong multi-year visibility.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor underground geology team, including mine geologists and in-house technicians, ensuring high standards of safety, performance, and data quality
* Coordinate daily underground geological activities, working closely with mining, engineering, and contractor teams
* Plan and oversee underground drilling programs (grade control and extensional), with exposure to managing multiple rigs as the operation scales
* Develop and maintain accurate 3D geological models, with involvement in resource estimation processes
* Interpret narrow vein mineralisation and structural controls to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution
* Contribute to medium- and long-term mine planning, including drill drive design and budget input
* Drive continuous improvement of geological processes, systems, and data workflows across the operation
* Ensure effective use of geological software including Leapfrog, Deswik, and associated data management tools
* Maintain high-quality QA/QC standards, working closely with technicians on logging, sampling, and data capture

Requirements
* Proven experience in underground gold operations, ideally within narrow vein deposits
* Strong background in grade control, drill planning, and geological interpretation
* Experience with 3D modelling and exposure to resource estimation techniques (e.g. Ordinary Kriging)
* Proficiency in Leapfrog and Deswik (or similar software)
* Demonstrated leadership or mentoring capability within a geology team
* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments
