Our client is a highly regarded public healthcare provider delivering essential services across regional and remote Western Australia. They are seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager – Mental Health to lead and strengthen inpatient mental health services while contributing to improved outcomes for the local community.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse leader to step into a pivotal management role within an inpatient unit. You will provide clinical and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care aligned with organisational priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and managing a multidisciplinary mental health inpatient team
* Overseeing clinical governance, quality, and safety standards
* Managing budgets, workforce planning, and resource allocation
* Driving service improvement initiatives and implementing strategic plans
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act
* Providing expert clinical leadership and consultancy across services
* Supporting recruitment, performance development, and staff supervision
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, including the Director of Nursing and multidisciplinary teams, playing a key role in shaping mental health services across the region.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
* Registration (or eligibility) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
* Significant experience in acute mental health nursing, including leadership roles
* Strong knowledge and application of the Mental Health Act (WA)
* Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Demonstrated experience in quality improvement and evidence-based practice
* Highly developed problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
* Experience working in rural or remote settings (desirable)
* Postgraduate qualifications in leadership, management, or mental health (desirable)
