The Position:
As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will:
Responsibilities will include:
- Conduct detailed assessments (e.g., FBAs) to identify triggers and functions of behaviours of concern
- Develop person-centred Behaviour Support Plans with proactive strategies, environmental adjustments, and skill-building Teach and coach communication, social, and emotional regulation skills to replace challenging behaviours
- Provide informal peer supervision to early-career and emerging practitioners (if you have the experience or ability)
- Collaborate with individuals, families, and professionals, providing training and guidance for consistent support
- Monitor progress, review plans regularly, and work toward reducing restrictive practices in line with NDIS guidelines
What we’re looking for:
- Senior-level BSP with experience conducting peer supervision/checking reports & FBAs
- Current licence and access to own transport
- Registration with NDIS as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (proficient or advanced)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, education or an associated field
- Relevant clearances and certificates to work in the NDIS field such as NDIS Workers Screening, WWCC and National Police Clearance
