The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established contractor delivering complex civil and marine works across major WA resource projects. With ongoing work across Tier 1 clients including Rio Tinto, BHP and FMG, they are seeking an experienced HSE Lead to support a growing portfolio of projects across the Pilbara and wider WA operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting multiple project teams across civil and marine scopes, with projects typically ranging around 30-40 personnel onsite. You’ll provide both operational and strategic HSE leadership while mentoring 1-2 Advisors across the business.
The business has a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work. Rather than being locked into a single site long-term, this role offers variety and exposure across multiple projects, while still maintaining continuity of leadership and support across the business.
You’ll work closely with operations and senior leadership to drive compliance, improve systems, support investigations, mentor site teams, and continue building a proactive safety culture across active projects.
The Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior HSE leadership role within civil, mining, construction, or marine environments
- Strong understanding of WA HSE legislation, systems, and compliance requirements
- Experience leading and mentoring Advisors and site-based HSE personnel
- Proven capability across audits, investigations, risk assessments, and client engagement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport onsite and with leadership teams
- Experience working across multiple projects and adapting to changing operational priorities
- Cert IV in WHS/OHS essential
- Internal auditing and IMS experience highly regarded
