About the Company
Our client is a respected provider within the community health and mental health sector, delivering essential services to young people and their families across regional and remote communities. With a strong focus on person-centred care, early intervention, cultural safety and clinical excellence, they are seeking an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker to join their multidisciplinary team and support communities with limited access to specialist mental health services.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accredited Mental Health Social Worker to join a well-established youth mental health service, providing assessment, counselling and therapeutic support to young people aged 12-25 years.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will manage a varied caseload of approximately 20-30 active clients and deliver evidence-based interventions for a range of mental health presentations including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-harm, emotional regulation difficulties, family challenges and psychosocial stressors.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessments

Provide evidence-based counselling and therapeutic interventions to young people aged 12-25 years

Develop recovery-focused treatment plans and support goal setting

Manage a diverse caseload and maintain accurate clinical documentation

Undertake risk assessments and safety planning where required

Support young people experiencing complex mental health, social and family-related challenges

Collaborate with GPs, psychiatrists, psychologists, schools and community agencies

Participate in case reviews, clinical supervision and multidisciplinary meetings

Facilitate referrals to appropriate internal and external support services

Promote early intervention, resilience and positive mental health outcomes for young people
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

Accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)

Experience providing counselling and therapeutic interventions within mental health settings
-
Strong assessment, case management and care coordination skills
-
Experience working with young people and their families highly regarded
-
Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice
-
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team

Current driver’s licence and eligibility to work in Australia
