About the Company

Our client is a well-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service providing comprehensive primary healthcare, disability services, and community programs throughout the Pilbara region. Guided by the local Aboriginal community, the organisation is committed to delivering culturally safe, holistic, and accessible healthcare services that improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people and their families.

They are seeking an experienced and passionate Midwife to join their multidisciplinary team and support women, babies, and families throughout their pregnancy and postnatal journey.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Midwife to deliver culturally responsive antenatal, postnatal, and women’s health services within a community-focused healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care to women and families.
    * Delivering pregnancy education, health promotion, and breastfeeding support.
    * Monitoring maternal and infant wellbeing and coordinating referrals to specialist services when required.
    * Identifying and supporting women experiencing social, emotional, mental health, or substance use challenges.
    * Coordinating care with GPs, obstetric specialists, hospitals, and community health providers.
    * Facilitating smooth transitions from maternity services to child and family health programs.
    * Delivering women’s health services including cervical screening, vaccinations, and health education.
    * Maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
    * Supporting key maternal and child health program outcomes and performance indicators.
    * Building strong relationships with local Aboriginal communities and partner organisations.

You will work closely with the Clinical Manager, Senior Medical Officer, GPs, Child Health teams, WA Country Health Service, and external specialists to deliver high-quality care across the region.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Current registration as a Midwife with AHPRA.
    * Demonstrated experience providing antenatal and postnatal care.
    * Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
    * Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    * Experience delivering health education to women, partners, and families.
    * Understanding of the health challenges and barriers affecting Aboriginal women and babies.
    * Commitment to culturally safe, person-centred care.
    * Strong organisational and documentation skills.
    * A passion for improving maternal and child health outcomes in regional and remote communities.

What’s On Offer

In return, our client offers:

  • A rewarding role making a genuine difference in Aboriginal health outcomes.
    * Monday to Friday working hours with excellent work-life balance.
    * Supportive multidisciplinary team environment.
    * Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
    * The opportunity to contribute to community-led healthcare in a highly rewarding setting.
    * Salary packaging and additional employee benefits.
