Pump Fitter – FIFO

• 8/6 FIFO roster | $75-$80/hr | Temp-to-perm opportunity

Zenith Search is currently seeking an experienced Pump Fitter for a FIFO opportunity with a growing mining services contractor.

This role will suit someone who is trade qualified, mechanically strong, and happy to be part of a tight-knit site team. The work will involve pump rebuilds, maintenance, workshop support and general site-based duties across dredging operations.

The crew will move from site to site depending on project requirements.

The Role

You will be the key person on site for pump-related questions, repairs and maintenance.

This is not a role for someone who wants to work on pumps only and avoid the broader site requirements. The right person will be flexible, team-focused and willing to support the crew where needed, including assisting with machinery operation where required.

Duties Will Include

• Pump rebuilds and maintenance
• Fault-finding and repairs
• Workshop support where required
• Supporting dredging operations
• Providing pump knowledge and guidance to the team
• Assisting site crews with day-to-day mechanical tasks
• Operating excavators or other machinery where required
• Working across different sites as the crew moves between projects
• Maintaining safe work practices and site standards

What You Will Need

• Trade qualification in Pump Fitting
• Previous pump rebuild and maintenance experience
• Sound mechanical knowledge
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
• Strong team attitude
• Flexibility to assist outside of core pump fitting duties
• Willingness to work within a dredging/site-based crew environment
• FIFO experience highly regarded

Highly Regarded

• 1-2 years post-apprenticeship experience or more
• Excavator or machinery operating experience
• Dredging experience
• Mining or civil site experience
• Experience working with smaller crews where everyone helps where needed

About You

You will be reliable, practical and happy to get involved across the site.

The right person will have solid pump knowledge, a strong work ethic and the ability to guide others around pump maintenance and rebuilds.

This role would suit someone who wants to grow with a smaller contractor and become a key part of the team long term.
