Remote Area Nurses, Midwives & Aboriginal Health Clinical Leaders – Rural & Remote Aboriginal Health Services

Salary: From $85 per hour + On-Call & Recall Allowances + Travel & Accommodation
About the Company
Our clients are highly regarded Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), Government Health Services and Remote Primary Health Care providers delivering essential healthcare to some of Australia’s most unique and culturally diverse communities.
We are currently seeking experienced clinicians for a variety of locum contracts available now through to October 2026, with opportunities ranging from short-term placements through to extended contracts.
Current opportunities include:
- Remote Area Nurses (RAN)
- Registered Midwives
- Child Health Nurses
- Men’s Health Nurses
- Clinic Team Leaders
- Health Centre Managers
The Role
This is an outstanding opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with meaningful work supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities throughout rural and remote Australia.
Working within multidisciplinary teams, you’ll deliver high-quality, culturally safe healthcare while enjoying the diversity and challenge that remote practice offers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver comprehensive primary health care within remote community settings
- Provide emergency assessment, stabilisation and ongoing clinical management
- Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency response rosters where required
- Collaborate with Aboriginal Health Practitioners, visiting specialists and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive community health outcomes
You’ll become an integral member of experienced remote healthcare teams committed to improving health outcomes across Australia.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in these roles, you will ideally have:
- Demonstrated experience working as a Remote Area Nurse, Midwife or in a senior remote health leadership role
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
- Recent rural and remote clinical experience
- Current Remote Emergency Care (REC)
- Current Maternity Emergency Care (MEC)
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS)
- Current Triage certification
- Excellent emergency assessment, communication and clinical decision-making skills
- A genuine commitment to providing culturally appropriate healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
