Senior Exploration Geologist

Our client, a well-established Western Australian gold producer, is seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to join their team. This is a key leadership role, contributing to the development and execution of the company’s exploration strategy across an active and growing Archean gold portfolio.

Reporting through to the Manager Exploration and Chief Growth Officer, you will play a central role in generating a high-quality target pipeline, designing and executing exploration programs, and mentoring the next generation of exploration talent.

The Role

• Assist in the development, budgeting, planning and prioritisation of all exploration activities
• Contribute to a high-quality target pipeline through evaluation of multidisciplinary datasets
• Select, design and execute exploration programs to test approved targets safely and cost-effectively
• Lead, guide and mentor exploration geologists and field staff, supporting succession planning across key roles
• Oversee contractors and consultants to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of work
• Ensure all approvals, permits, and heritage/environmental requirements are met prior to activity commencement
• Ensure accurate data capture, database loading, and QA/QC protocols across all programs
• Produce departmental reporting including geological, monthly, budget, and expenditure reports
• Champion a proactive, safety-first culture within the exploration team

About You

• Minimum 8 years’ experience in Archean gold exploration, including regional/generative exploration in a project-level role
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology from a recognised tertiary institution
• Solid understanding of JORC compliant guidelines for exploration and mineral resources
• Strong technical grounding in Archean gold mineralisation systems and current exploration models
• Excellent GIS skills (QGIS/MapInfo) and 3D modelling proficiency (Leapfrog or Micromine)
• Demonstrated leadership, budgeting, and team management capability
• Sound understanding of WA Mining Law and statutory requirements
• WA ‘C’ Class driver’s licence and National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)

Desirable

• Higher degree in Geology (Structural or Economic)
• Senior First Aid Certificate
• Solid understanding of regolith profiles
• Experience in 3D orebody interpretation
• Mine geology and/or resource geology experience
