About the Opportunity

Zenith Search is partnering with a well-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service in Cairns to recruit an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner for a FIFO role servicing remote Cape York communities from Cairns.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team, you’ll deliver culturally safe, holistic care that supports individuals, families and communities across Cape York. About the Role

You’ll provide comprehensive primary healthcare services within your scope of practice while working closely with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and community teams. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering culturally safe primary healthcare and health promotion
• Conducting health assessments, screening and triage
• Supporting chronic disease management and preventative health programs
• Providing health education to individuals, families and community groups
• Developing and supporting client care plans, recalls and follow-up
• Participating in outreach clinics across Cape York communities
• Supporting and mentoring Health Workers and emerging Health Practitioners where appropriate

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner who is passionate about delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate primary healthcare.

You’ll bring:

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice
• Current AHPRA registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner
• Experience working in primary healthcare or community health
• Strong clinical assessment, health education and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Current driver’s licence
• Willingness to travel throughout Cape York by light aircraft and 4WD as required
