Location: Western Australia – FIFO 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off

About the Opportunity

Our client is a respected provider of primary healthcare services supporting a remote Aboriginal community in Western Australia. They are seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join their established clinical team and provide high-quality, culturally safe healthcare to the local community.
This is an opportunity to become a valued and familiar clinician within one community, building meaningful relationships with patients and families and providing continuity of care over time.
With a 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster, $350,000 remuneration package, accommodation, travel and professional development support, this role offers an excellent combination of professional purpose, financial reward and lifestyle flexibility.
The Role
As the GP for the community, you will provide comprehensive primary healthcare across a broad range of presentations and age groups.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive general practice and primary healthcare
- Managing acute presentations, chronic disease and complex health conditions
- Providing emergency assessment and stabilisation when required
- Coordinating patient transfers and medical evacuations where necessary
- Ordering and interpreting investigations and managing specialist and allied health referrals
- Providing preventative healthcare, screening and health promotion
- Working closely with Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Developing strong therapeutic relationships with patients, families and the community
- Contributing to culturally safe, patient-centred healthcare
- Supporting continuity of care and improved long-term health outcomes for the community
You will have the opportunity to work across a clinically diverse caseload, with the autonomy that comes with remote practice while having a supportive team around you.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a GP who is clinically confident, adaptable and genuinely interested in working alongside an Aboriginal community.
Ideally, you will have:
- Current unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
- Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM, or equivalent
- Strong general practice experience
- Experience in rural, remote or Aboriginal health highly regarded
- Strong skills in primary care, chronic disease management and emergency medicine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A respectful and culturally sensitive approach to working with Aboriginal patients and families
- The ability to work confidently and independently in a remote environment
- Current WA Driver’s Licence
- Eligibility for National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
Desirable:
- Previous experience working within an Aboriginal Medical Service or Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
- Experience with Communicare or similar patient management systems
- Previous FIFO, rural or remote GP experience
