The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a growing WA electrical contractor delivering projects across the commercial, industrial and mining sectors.

Based in Osborne Park, this is an office-based role working across a diverse range of commercial projects, with a strong focus on Design & Construct (D&C) tenders.

You will play a key role in developing competitive and commercially sound tenders, working from concept designs, performance specifications and incomplete documentation to develop practical electrical solutions and accurate project pricing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed take-offs, quantities and cost estimates from drawings, specifications and site information
  • Price Design & Construct (D&C) packages, developing scopes, allowances and provisional sums from concept or performance-based documentation
  • Liaise with consultants and designers throughout the tender process to develop and refine electrical solutions
  • Source, assess and negotiate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
  • Prepare tender submissions and respond to RFQs and RFTs
  • Review contract documentation and identify scope, risk, margin and design considerations
  • Identify potential scope creep and design risk across D&C projects
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and head contractors throughout the tender process
  • Utilise SimPro for job costing and assist with the handover of successful projects to the delivery team
  • Track tender outcomes and win rates, contributing to the ongoing improvement of estimating templates and processes

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong commercial contracting background.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in commercial electrical estimating
  • Proven experience pricing D&C projects
  • The ability to work confidently from partial, concept or performance-based documentation
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, standards and commercial construction
  • The ability to interpret drawings and specifications and translate design intent into a practical, buildable solution
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with SimPro or similar estimating/job costing software is highly regarded
  • Existing WA commercial construction experience and industry relationships will be advantageous
