Project Engineer – Civil Construction / Regional Earthworks & Roads

Salary: Up to $160K + Super
About the Company
Our client is a well-established civil construction contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Western Australia. With a strong reputation for quality, safety, and project delivery, they are currently expanding their project team to support a significant regional earthworks and roads package.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join a high-performing project team delivering major earthworks and road construction works in regional WA.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, Supervisors, subcontractors, and client representatives, you will play a key role in coordinating construction activities and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day engineering and construction activities across earthworks and road packages
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant, labour, and multiple work fronts
- Develop short-term programs, lookahead schedules, construction sequencing, and work packages
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and construction methodologies
- Monitor quantities, productivity, costs, progress, and project performance
- Manage QA/QC requirements including ITPs, inspections, testing, NCRs, and project documentation
- Assist with progress claims, variations, forecasting, and commercial reporting
- Identify and resolve technical and construction issues in collaboration with site and project teams
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- 3+ years’ experience as a Site Engineer within civil construction, with strong exposure to earthworks and road construction
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- Experience working on regional, remote, or FIFO civil infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, QA/QC, quantities, surveying, and project documentation
- Proven experience coordinating subcontractors and managing multiple work fronts
- Strong communication, planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Australian civil construction experience is highly desirable
- White Card and relevant site tickets/inductions
