Project Manager | Commercial Construction

  • Location: Site based – North of the River
  • Salary: $180k – $250k base + super + bonus (depending on experience)

An excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded mid-tier commercial builder with more than 20 years in the WA market.

Backed by a respected and highly experienced leadership team, strong systems and processes and a secure pipeline of work, the business has an impressive portfolio spanning multi-residential, education and complex industrial projects valued up to $200M+.

The Opportunity:

You will be site based, taking overall responsibility for the delivery of a $35M apartment development in North of the River, Perth.

You’ll be joining a strong and well-resourced existing project team, including dedicated HSE, experienced Site Manager and strong Contract Administrator, allowing you to focus on leading the project and driving successful delivery.

Given the strength of the existing team and support structure, the business is open to considering Junior through to Senior PMs, as well as an exceptional Senior Contract Administrator or Senior Project Engineer who is ready to step into Project Management.

For someone making that step, you’ll have the benefit of an experienced team and senior leadership around you to support your transition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the $35M apartment project
  • Manage and drive the construction programme, ensuring key milestones are achieved
  • Maintain oversight of project budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, procurement and variations
  • Manage key relationships with the client, consultants, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
  • Oversee procurement and ensure subcontract packages are awarded in line with programme and budget
  • Proactively identify and resolve design, programme, commercial and construction issues
  • Lead project reporting and meetings, maintaining visibility across programme, financial performance and project risk
  • Ensure contractual, quality, safety and company requirements are maintained throughout delivery
  • Drive the project through practical completion, handover and close-out


About You

  • Proven experience across commercial construction projects $20M+
  • Strong commercial and contractual acumen
  • Excellent programme and project delivery capabilities
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong client, consultant and subcontractor management skills
  • Sound knowledge of procurement, design management and construction methodology
  • A proactive leadership style with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they impact delivery
