  • Prioritise maintenance tasks effectively and manage competing demands in a timely manner.
  • Identify maintenance issues requiring specialist attention and escalate these appropriately.
  • Liaise with and provide access to external contractors, including electricians, plumbers and carpenters, when required.
  • Monitor maintenance supplies, chemicals and equipment and advise management of replenishment requirements.
  • Maintain maintenance, chemical and tool storage areas in a safe, clean and organised condition.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with relevant safety standards, regulations and legislation.
  • Report hazards, incidents and maintenance-related safety concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive, respectful workplace environment.
  • Communicate professionally with residents, families, staff, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for improvements to facilities, maintenance processes and overall service delivery.
  • Participate in required training, including fire and emergency procedures, chemical safety, manual handling and infection control.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure organisational resources are used appropriately

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or building services role.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and respectful approach when dealing with residents, staff, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately.
  • A proactive approach to identifying maintenance issues and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
  • Experience working within a large facility, including exposure to lifts, chilled water air-conditioning systems and access control systems, will be highly regarded.
