The organisation takes a client-centred approach, working collaboratively across mental health, health and community services to support people experiencing complex mental health, social and emotional wellbeing challenges.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician to join a collaborative community-based team providing psychosocial support, care coordination, case management and mental health interventions.

The position would suit a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist with experience working within mental health and/or community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and identify client strengths, needs, risks and support requirements.
  • Develop and deliver client-centred support plans and evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide mental health and psychosocial support to individuals and families experiencing complex challenges.
  • Provide case management and care coordination for clients with complex needs.
  • Coordinate referrals and support clients to access health, mental health, housing, disability, legal, financial and community services.
  • Provide advocacy and assist clients to navigate health, social and government systems.
  • Participate in risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, counsellors, allied health professionals and community services.
  • Participate in community engagement, mental health promotion and health education initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • To succeed in this role, you will ideally have relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology, with eligibility for the appropriate professional registration or accreditation.
  • Mental Health Accredited Social Worker (MHASW) status or eligibility to obtain accreditation is highly regarded. Clinical Psychologists with the relevant qualifications and registration will also be considered.
  • You will have demonstrated experience in mental health, community services, social work, case management or a related field, along with strong knowledge of psychosocial assessment, care coordination, advocacy and case management.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, advocacy and client engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A demonstrated commitment to culturally safe, client-centred and ethical practice is also required.
  • A current Open C Class Driver Licence valid in Queensland is required, along with a current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or eligibility to obtain these clearances.

What’s On Offer

  • Our client offers a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference within the community, with full-time or part-time flexibility.
  • You will join a collaborative multidisciplinary team and can contribute to community engagement and mental health promotion initiatives.
  • The role also provides opportunities for professional supervision, professional development and reflective practice, as well as the opportunity to work across integrated clinic, outreach and community programs.
