Mental Health Clinician – Community Mental Health
Location: Toowoomba, QLD
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Salary: $110,000 to $140,000 depending on experience + super + salary packaging

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician to join a collaborative community-based team providing psychosocial support, care coordination, case management and mental health interventions.
The position would suit a Mental Health Accredited Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist with experience working within mental health and/or community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and identify client strengths, needs, risks and support requirements.
- Develop and deliver client-centred support plans and evidence-based interventions.
- Provide mental health and psychosocial support to individuals and families experiencing complex challenges.
- Provide case management and care coordination for clients with complex needs.
- Coordinate referrals and support clients to access health, mental health, housing, disability, legal, financial and community services.
- Provide advocacy and assist clients to navigate health, social and government systems.
- Participate in risk assessment, safety planning and crisis intervention where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, counsellors, allied health professionals and community services.
- Participate in community engagement, mental health promotion and health education initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- To succeed in this role, you will ideally have relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work or Psychology, with eligibility for the appropriate professional registration or accreditation.
- Mental Health Accredited Social Worker (MHASW) status or eligibility to obtain accreditation is highly regarded. Clinical Psychologists with the relevant qualifications and registration will also be considered.
- You will have demonstrated experience in mental health, community services, social work, case management or a related field, along with strong knowledge of psychosocial assessment, care coordination, advocacy and case management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, advocacy and client engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A demonstrated commitment to culturally safe, client-centred and ethical practice is also required.
- A current Open C Class Driver Licence valid in Queensland is required, along with a current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, or eligibility to obtain these clearances.
