Landscaping Team Leader

• $47 per hour plus potential overtime

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Horticulturist or Landscaping Team Leader to join a well-established landscaping contractor based north of the river.

The company manages several council contracts and has recently secured a prestigious new commercial contract. You will work independently or alongside a labourer, running your own trailer and completing gardening and landscaping jobs across various sites.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can manage their daily workload, operate equipment safely and complete jobs to a high standard without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Run daily gardening and landscaping jobs independently or with a crew member
• Safely operate push mowers, ride-on mowers, edgers, hedge trimmers and whipper snippers
• Complete pruning, weeding, spraying and general garden maintenance
• Conduct basic reticulation inspections, repairs and maintenance
• Use hand and power tools safely
• Transport, reverse and safely position a work trailer
• Keep the allocated trailer at home and travel directly to job sites
• Maintain equipment, vehicles and work areas
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
• Liaise professionally with clients, council representatives and the public

About You

• Previous horticulture, gardening or commercial landscaping experience
• Previous council-contract experience is highly desirable
• Capable of completing jobs independently and leading an additional crew member
• Confident reversing and towing a trailer
• Able to securely store the work trailer at home
• Experience using landscaping machinery, hand tools and power tools
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Current White Card
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
• Reliable, organised and able to manage daily workloads

Experience with council contractors or established landscaping companies such as LD Total, Tim Davies Landscaping or Landscape Elements would be highly regarded.
