Salary: $95ph-$130ph + super + travel reimbursement

About the Company

Our client is a well-established and highly regarded Brisbane-based allied health provider, with over 18 years of experience supporting children, adolescents and adults with complex needs.

They are now looking for a passionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to join their growing team and take on a rewarding child and adolescent caseload, working with complex participants with comorbid presentations.

This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner who wants to do genuinely meaningful clinical work without the risk of burnout. You’ll deliver high-quality, trauma-informed PBS while working alongside an experienced team that prioritises clinical excellence, practitioner wellbeing and professional growth.

With excellent supervision, mentoring and ongoing development, you’ll be given the support and autonomy to strengthen your clinical expertise, work with complex presentations and take your PBS career to the next level.

The Role

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you’ll play a key role in helping children and young people build confidence, independence and meaningful lives through innovative, person-centred and trauma-informed Positive Behaviour Support.

You’ll work closely with participants, families, support teams and multidisciplinary professionals to understand the person behind the behaviour and develop practical, evidence-based strategies that create real and lasting change.

No two days will be the same. You’ll have the opportunity to work with complex presentations, apply your clinical expertise, think creatively and make a tangible difference to the lives of the people you support.

This is a role where you can challenge yourself clinically, grow your expertise and genuinely enjoy the work you do.

Key responsibilities include:

• Writing comprehensive and interim reports
• Completing functional behaviour assessments
• Developing Positive Behaviour Support Plans
• Working with restrictive practices and creating fade-out plans where appropriate
• Creating innovative, practical resources
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Setting meaningful goals and developing strategies to achieve client outcomes
• Collecting, analysing and interpreting behavioural data
• Providing evidence-based, trauma-informed clinical recommendations

What We’re Looking For

• NDIS Endorsement – Core, Proficient, Advanced or Specialist
• Previous experience drafting Positive Behaviour Support Plans
• Confidence providing clinical direction around restrictive practices and understanding NDIS Commission expectations
• Experience or a strong interest in working with children and adolescents with complex needs – experience providing therapeutic/clincial services
• Comfortable working with complex and, at times, high-risk participants
• Strong clinical reasoning, communication and report-writing skills
• A genuine passion for making a meaningful difference through PBS
• Full Working Rights in Australia
• Own vehicle and clean driving licence
