About the Practice

Our client has recently opened a beautiful new medical facility in regional Victoria, with the practice commencing operations in March 2026.

This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager to join the practice at an exciting stage of its development. The foundations are in place, but there is significant opportunity to build the practice, grow its services and establish a strong patient base.

The practice currently works with 2 GPs, a Practice Nurse and Administration staff, with a clear goal of growing to 3 FTE GPs.

A key part of the role will be helping to build the patient base and fill the GPs’ diaries, while ensuring the practice has the systems, processes and services required to support sustainable growth.

The location is exceptional, with two large regional areas within a short distance, providing access to a broad surrounding community.

You will also have excellent support and guidance from the Executive team, giving you the backing to develop the practice while having genuine ownership of its day-to-day operations.

The Role

This is not a role where you are simply maintaining an established practice.

You will be joining a new practice with significant room to grow and will play a central role in turning the vision into a busy, sustainable medical service.

You will work closely with the 2 GPs, Practice Nurse, Administration team and Executive leadership, with responsibility for developing the operational and commercial foundations of the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Taking ownership of the day-to-day management and growth of the practice
• Developing and implementing effective practice systems, processes and workflows
• Supporting the growth of the practice from 2 GPs towards 3 FTE GPs
• Developing strategies to increase patient numbers and fill GP diaries
• Building awareness of the practice within the local and surrounding communities
• Identifying opportunities to develop and expand the services offered
• Managing staffing, recruitment, rostering and workflow
• Supporting the GP and clinical team to deliver an excellent patient experience
• Overseeing practice administration, Medicare, billing and financial processes
• Managing compliance and accreditation requirements
• Monitoring practice performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Building relationships with local health services, community organisations and other stakeholders
• Working closely with the Executive team on the ongoing development and strategic direction of the practice

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Practice Manager within a GP or medical practice
• Demonstrated experience in building, establishing or significantly growing a medical practice and its services
• Experience developing strategies to grow patient numbers and GP utilisation
• Strong understanding of GP practice operations, Medicare, billing and compliance
• Experience managing clinical and administration teams
• Strong organisational, financial and operational management skills
• A commercial and growth-focused mindset
• The ability to build relationships within the local community
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with GPs and Executive leadership
• A proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously
• Must currently reside in Australia
• Must have full working rights in Australia

Experience successfully building a new or recently established medical practice will be highly regarded.
