Commercial & Tendering Manager

The Commercial & Tendering Manager plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives through tender pipeline growth, growth projects, converting new work and improvement on existing contractual terms. This role requires advanced financial modelling, market analysis, deal execution, and cross-functional collaboration to support the organisation’s long-term objectives.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the legal function, the role will contribute to business initiatives and support tendering, repricing, and commercial analysis across the company’s portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop and maintain estimating models.
• Overseeing periodic reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency in pricing estimations.
• Maintaining comprehensive records of all pricing activities.
• Costing and reviewing potential new projects and deals, including repricing existing projects.
• Identifying efficiencies and opportunities to enhance competitiveness.
• Ensuring consistent application of project estimation practices across the organisation.
• The role will manage 3 direct reports
  • Business Analyst to assist with research, analysis, and administrative tasks. The analysts can prepare basic pricing models. This role will help support the growth of the business analyst in being able to assist with more complex modelling.
  • Business Development Manager to drive the sourcing and qualification of new opportunities, growth projects, and key client and acquisition targets across each business division. The role will direct and support this role in building and sustaining a robust pipeline, ensuring opportunities are tracked, prioritised, and converted in line with the company’s growth strategy.
  • Estimator to prepare and maintain detailed cost estimates for tenders, variations and repricing submissions, drawing on material, labour, plant and subcontractor inputs. The role will oversee this role to ensure estimates are accurate, consistently applied across cost models, and delivered within tender timeframes.
