The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join a specialist hospital mental health service in Perth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Social Worker with strong clinical experience to provide advanced social work services within an inpatient mental health setting. You will work as a senior member of a multidisciplinary team, supporting patients with complex mental health needs while contributing to clinical service development and professional practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced clinical social work assessment, intervention and support to patients within an inpatient mental health environment.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, clinical meetings and treatment planning.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and contribute to inpatient therapy programs.
• Provide specialist clinical social work consultation to Social Workers and other health professionals.
• Support complex psychosocial assessment, intervention, discharge planning and care coordination.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of social work services.
• Provide clinical supervision, guidance and support to Social Workers, Welfare Officers and students.
• Maintain contemporary knowledge of social work practice, mental health services and relevant community resources.
• Manage a clinical workload in accordance with professional standards, priorities and patient needs.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work.
• Eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or relevant professional body.
• Demonstrated experience providing advanced clinical social work services.
• Strong experience within mental health and/or hospital settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• The ability to manage complex clinical workloads and competing priorities.
• Experience contributing to service development, quality improvement or clinical initiatives.
• Previous experience supervising students or staff will be highly regarded.
