Our client is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join an established Regional Health Service in regional Queensland.

With 2:2, 3:3 or 4:4 FIFO rotations available, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding GP career while maintaining genuine flexibility between rotations.

Whether you’re looking for two weeks on/two weeks off, three weeks on/three weeks off or four weeks on/four weeks off, there is an opportunity to find a roster that works around your family, lifestyle and existing commitments.

You’ll provide high-quality healthcare to an Regional community while being supported by an experienced multidisciplinary clinical team.

The Role

As a FIFO GP, you will provide comprehensive primary healthcare across a broad range of presentations and age groups.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive general practice and primary healthcare.
  • Managing acute presentations, chronic disease and complex health conditions.
  • Providing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health assessments.
  • Providing preventative healthcare, screening and health promotion.
  • Developing and reviewing chronic disease management and care plans.
  • Ordering and interpreting investigations and coordinating specialist and allied health referrals.
  • Working closely with Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, allied health professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Developing strong therapeutic relationships with patients, families and the community.
  • Providing culturally safe, respectful and patient-centred healthcare.
  • Supporting continuity of care and improved long-term health outcomes.
  • Contributing to clinical quality, safety and continuous improvement.

You’ll work across a diverse and rewarding clinical caseload, with the autonomy and professional satisfaction of regional practice while having a strong team around you.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a GP who is clinically confident, adaptable and genuinely interested in Aboriginal health and FIFO practice.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Current unrestricted registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA.
  • Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM, or equivalent.
  • Strong general practice experience.
  • Experience in rural, remote or Aboriginal health highly regarded.
  • Strong skills in primary care and chronic disease management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A respectful and culturally sensitive approach to working with Aboriginal patients and families.
  • The ability to work confidently within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A genuine commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

Desirable:

  • Previous Aboriginal Medical Service or ACCHS experience.
  • Previous FIFO, rural or remote GP experience.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal Health Workers.
  • Experience with Communicare or similar patient management systems.
  • Cultural awareness or cultural safety training.
