Our client, a Tier 1 mining services provider, is seeking a skilled and driven Leading Hand – HD Fitter to join their maintenance team at the Gruyere Gold Project, a major open-pit mine located approximately 180km east of Laverton, WA.
This is a full-time opportunity with strong long-term career development potential. We’re looking for someone who brings 1-3 years of Leading Hand or Supervisor experience, a commitment to high standards, and a strong understanding of surface mining maintenance.

About the Role:
You’ll lead a team of HD fitters responsible for maintaining a large fleet of heavy mobile mining equipment, including:
- CAT 785, CAT D10, CAT MD6250, CAT 16M, CAT 6060
- Liebherr 9400/9200, Epiroc D65XL, Komatsu PC1250, Komatsu GD955
- Komatsu WA900, Komatsu 830E, Terex MT4400
- Sandvik DR410i, DI650i and DP1500/1600
As a hands-on leader, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality maintenance of this diverse fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, supervise, and support the maintenance team across day and night shifts
- Prioritise breakdowns and plan preventative maintenance tasks
- Drive safety-first practices and compliance with site protocols
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of maintenance documentation
- Actively promote teamwork and continuous improvement
- Work closely with supervisors and planners to achieve operational goals
About You:
- Heavy Diesel Trade Qualification (Australian recognised)
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a Leading Hand or Supervisor role
- Solid background in surface mining equipment maintenance
- High level of mechanical aptitude and leadership capability
- Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer literacy
