Aboriginal Health Worker
Job Type: Full-Time Positions and Locum 3 Month Contracts

- Deliver culturally safe, holistic primary health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
- Assist with health assessments, chronic disease management, preventative health activities, and care planning.
- Support clients to navigate the health system and access appropriate health and community services.
- Conduct clinical procedures within your scope of practice, including observations, wound care, ECGs, point-of-care testing, health screening, pathology collection, and other clinical support duties.
- Assist with Closing the Gap initiatives, health checks, care plans, and patient follow-up.
- Promote health education, wellbeing, and preventative healthcare within the community.
- Advocate for clients and provide culturally appropriate support throughout their healthcare journey.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to reporting and quality improvement activities.
- Participate in community outreach, home visits, and health promotion programs where required.

- Certificate III or higher in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care (or working towards completion).
- Registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner (where applicable).
- Previous experience working in Aboriginal health, primary health care, or community health is highly regarded.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain relevant screening and compliance checks.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (desirable).
