Account Payable/Payroll Officer

- Monday to Friday day time hours (flexible on start and finish)
- Permanent Full time
- Paying up to $90k plus super and salary packaging

The Role:
- This role will consist of primarily accounts payable with payroll support
- Process accounts payable invoices accurately and within required timeframes in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
- Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution of payment queries
- Prepare and process electronic payments, cheque runs, and creditor reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records, filing systems, and accounts documentation for audit and compliance purposes
- Liaise with suppliers, internal managers, and staff regarding invoice approvals, payment enquiries, and account matters
- Provide administrative and transactional support to the payroll department, including timesheet processing, data entry, and payroll documentation
- Assist with onboarding and maintenance of employee payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of information
- Support payroll processing activities in line with relevant awards, Fair Work requirements, and aged care industry standards
- Collaborate with finance and payroll teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the organisation
- Contribute to month-end finance processes, reporting, and reconciliation tasks as required
- Maintain compliance with organisational policies, confidentiality requirements, and not-for-profit financial procedures
- Provide professional and responsive customer service to staff, residents, families, and external stakeholders
- Support the values and mission of a not-for-profit aged care organisation through efficient financial and payroll administration
- Work collaboratively within a fast-paced aged care environment supporting residential and community care operations across the organisation
The successful candidate will have:
- Certificate III or IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or Finance (desirable but not always essential)
- Knowledge of systems – Inerva and lightyear (desirable)
- Previous experience in accounts payable, finance administration, payroll support, or bookkeeping
- Strong data entry and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail
- Understanding of invoice processing, creditor management, and payment procedures
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills when liaising with suppliers and internal staff
- Knowledge of payroll processes, awards, and Fair Work requirements is highly regarded for roles supporting payroll
- Experience within aged care, healthcare, or not-for-profit organisations is often viewed favourably
- Full working rights in Australia
