Alternate Underground Manager
Underground Alternate Mine Manager (Gold) – FIFO 8:6
We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Alternate Mine Manager to join a well renown gold mining company in Western Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a high-performing underground team on an 8:6 FIFO roster.
About the Role
Reporting to the Underground Manager, you will support the safe and efficient operation of the underground mine and act in the capacity of Mine Manager as required. You will ensure all statutory and operational obligations are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day management of underground mining operations
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
- Act as Underground Mine Manager when required
- Lead, coach, and mentor underground personnel, including both Planing and Production teams
- Drive continuous improvement across safety, production, and cost performance
- Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders
Required Tickets & Certifications
- WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Underground) (or ability to obtain)
- Manual C Class Driver’s Licence
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Working at Heights & Confined Space (highly regarded)
Education & Experience
- Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ underground mining experience (gold preferred)
- At least 2 years’ experience working in Australia
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of WA mining legislation and statutory requirements
