About the Company
Our client highly respected leader in the delivery of Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) & SEWB services across regional. With a strong commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed care, Yaandina plays a critical role in improving the lives of individuals and families affected by substance use.
They are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate AOD Practitioner & SEWB Counsellor to support service delivery across programs including sobering up and detoxification services and general counselling team.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and experienced AOD professional to make a meaningful difference in a dynamic regional setting. You’ll provide therapeutic and practical support to clients in recovery, working as part of a highly collaborative and mission-driven team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering evidence-based individual and group therapeutic interventions
- Facilitating psychoeducation, case management, relapse prevention and wellbeing programs
- Collaborating closely with clients to develop treatment and recovery plans
- Engaging in clinical reviews, case notes, and performance development activities
- Providing holistic client support including life skills development and practical assistance
- Participating in community engagement activities and stakeholder liaison
- Supporting continuous improvement, safety, and quality assurance initiatives
You’ll work closely with the Therapeutic Community Clinical Leader, Team Leaders.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- Relevant qualifications in Social Work or Counselling
- Significant experience working in AOD and/or mental health settings, preferably in community or residential services
- A strong understanding of the challenges and strengths of First Nations Peoples, and experience working cross-culturally
- Excellent therapeutic, communication and documentation skills
- A client-centred approach with a focus on empowerment, cultural respect and trauma-informed care
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid National Police Clearance
- Current WA Driver’s Licence
- Required vaccinations and eligibility to work in Australia
