  • Lots of support, training, coaching, supervision and development

About the Company:

We wanted to make you aware of a newly created, permanent position for Behaviour Support Practitioner working for a hugely successful NDIS organisation who are experiencing massive growth. They are a multidisciplinary allied health organisation who also employ OT’s, Speechie’s and Psychologists, in order to support their clients.

They genuinely care about their employees and offer a fantastic working culture, where you will feel part of a team. This is a very exciting opportunity to get involved at ‘grass roots’ level whilst the organisation and team grows, so you will have lots of career development opportunities.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to progress through the NDIS Capability Framework and be supported, guided and developed to reach the next skill level.

This is a dynamic and fun environment where you will be part of a small team, which will grow in time, allowing you the time and space to develop – you can expect regular supervision and weekly one to ones where you will have the opportunity to discuss your complex clients, brainstorm, ask for advice and receive help & feedback, where required as part of your development.

The Position:
We are currently seeking Behaviour Support Practitioners of all experience and suitability levels. Whether you are just starting your career and have been endorsed at a Suitable Level (must have a practitioner number), or if you have suitability levels at Core, Proficient or Advanced, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments, such as FBAs, to understand the functions and triggers of behaviours of concern.
  • Plan Development: Create comprehensive & interim person-centred Behaviour Support Plans, outline proactive strategies, environmental modifications, and skill-building activities.
  • Skill Building: Teach and coach individuals new skills, such as communication, social skills, and emotional regulation, to replace challenging behaviours.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the individual, their family, support workers, and other professionals to develop a consistent and effective support system.
  • Training & Guidance: Provide training and ongoing guidance to families and support teams to ensure consistent implementation of the support plan.
  • Monitoring & Review: Continuously monitor the individual’s progress and regularly review the plan to ensure it remains relevant and effective.
  • Restrictive Practice Reduction: Support the safe reduction of restrictive practices, if used, in line with NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) requirements and legislative guidelines.
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies: as per the positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices and reduce challenging behaviours, in the home and community.

What we’re looking for:

  • Current driver’s licence and access to own transport
  • Registration with NDIS as a Behaviour Support Practitioner – must have a Practitioner Number
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, education or an associated field
  • Good working knowledge of positive behaviour support, including the legislative framework and providing support from a social model of disability
  • A proven track record of working from a systems perspective to empower families and carers
  • Relevant clearances and certificates to work in the NDIS field
  • Great attitude with excellent communication skills

What you can expect in return:

  • Work/Life Balance – working from home arrangement
  • 4-5 days a week – permanent full-time or part-time
  • Salary ranges from $75k-$110k + super depending on experience level
  • Sensible KPI’s and interesting, varied caseload
  • Fuel Card or Travel Allowance
  • Amazing work culture – fun, caring and motivating place to work with a supportive team environment that empowers you to grow as a practitioner
  • Support and Supervision – weekly one-on-one guidance and support to help you succeed and progress your career, including feedback and professional development
