Child Health Nurse NT & WA

Our clients are well-respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in NT and WA delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate primary healthcare services across regional Western Australia. With a strong focus on community wellbeing and holistic care, the organisation is committed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal children and families.
They are seeking experienced Child Health Nurses to join their multidisciplinary teams and play a key role in delivering comprehensive, family-centred care.
The Role
This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse with a passion for child health to work in a culturally safe, community-focused environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive child health assessments for children, including ASQ-TRAK developmental screening
- Providing primary health care services focused on prevention, early detection and early intervention
- Supporting immunisation delivery in line
- Participating in community outreach and opportunistic screening activities
- Collaborating with Doctors , Aboriginal Health Practitioners, allied health professionals and social wellbeing teams
- Coordinating referrals and care plans with internal services and external providers
- Supporting families to understand treatment options and make informed decisions about their child’s health
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and contributing to continuous quality improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience
- Experience in child health nursing and strong knowledge of childhood development
- Current accreditation to deliver vaccinations (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Sound understanding of the WA or NT childhood immunisation schedule
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities or a strong commitment to culturally safe practice
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in complex care environment
