Our client is a highly respected public and not-for-profit health organisation delivering comprehensive primary health care to regional and remote communities across Australia. We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with Child Health experience and Remote Area Nursing (RAN) background who is passionate about preventative care and supporting early childhood development in community settings.
The Opportunity
This is a rewarding role for a Child Health Nurse / RAN who enjoys working in culturally safe, community-focused environments and values building strong relationships with families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive child health assessments for children under 5, including ASQ-TRAK developmental screening
- Providing primary health care services with a focus on prevention, early detection and early intervention
- Supporting immunisation delivery in line with WA childhood immunisation schedules
- Participating in community outreach and opportunistic screening activities
- Collaborating closely with GPs, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, allied health professionals and social wellbeing teams
- Coordinating referrals and care plans with internal and external service providers
- Supporting families to understand treatment options and make informed decisions about their child’s health
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and contributing to continuous quality improvement
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience
- Experience in Child Health Nursing and Remote Area Nursing (RAN)
- Post graduate in Maternal and Child Health
- Immunisation accreditation (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Understanding of the childhood immunisation schedule
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities, or a strong commitment to culturally safe practice
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- Willingness and fitness to travel to remote communities
