About the Company
Our client, NSW Health is a respected leader in regional healthcare delivery, providing essential services to diverse communities across regional NSW. Known for its strong commitment to patient-centred care, workforce development, and clinical excellence, the district is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator to support and strengthen nursing practice across its Mental Health and Drug & Alcohol (MHDA) portfolio.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mental health nurse educator to step into a highly influential role supporting workforce capability, clinical quality, and evidence-based practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing and evaluating clinical education programs for nursing staff across MHDA services
* Supporting orientation and transition programs for new, graduate and agency nurses
* Conducting clinical competency assessments and supporting individual learning plans
* Providing point-of-care clinical supervision and professional support
* Developing and maintaining contemporary education resources aligned with evidence-based practice
* Contributing to service improvement, accreditation, and quality initiatives
* Supporting organisational change including virtual education models and reform initiatives
* Collaborating closely with Nursing Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Consultants, district education teams and MHDA leadership
You’ll work closely with the Director of MHDA, Professional Practice Manager and district education teams and play a key role in shaping safe, consistent and high-quality nursing practice across the service.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Post-registration qualification in mental health or education or minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in mental health nursing and education
* Strong understanding of adult learning principles and clinical facilitation frameworks
* Demonstrated experience delivering education programs and competency assessments
* High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel and hospital clinical systems
* Current unrestricted Australian driver’s licence and ability to travel as required
