Emergency Services Officer – Gold Mining
Location: Southern Cross, WA
Job Type: Full-time
Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off (Friday-Friday) – BIBO or DIDO
About the Company

They are seeking an Emergency Services Officer to join their HST team at the Southern Cross operation and play a key role in maintaining high standards of emergency response capability and industrial medical support across the site.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Emergency Services Officer to join a well-established mining operation and contribute to the safety and wellbeing of the workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the coordination and implementation of emergency response systems and procedures across site
* Ensuring emergency response equipment is maintained, compliant, and operational at all times
* Providing industrial medic services and first aid support as required
* Supporting the development and delivery of Emergency Response Team (ERT) training programs
* Managing medical centre supplies, drug registers, and compliance with relevant WA health legislation
* Administering S4 and S8 medications in line with company protocols and regulatory requirements
* Supporting health promotion initiatives and maintaining strong safety engagement with operational teams
* Assisting the HST Manager with reporting and engagement with regulatory bodies
You’ll work closely with the HST Manager, Emergency Services Coordinator, and site leadership team, contributing to the overall safety and emergency preparedness of the operation.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the mining industry
* Demonstrated underground emergency response experience
* Certificate IV in Health Care
* Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or Cert III Public Safety – Fire and Emergency
* BG4 Certification
* Formal qualification in Drug and Alcohol Testing
* Manual driver’s licence with MR or HR licence preferred
* Strong initiative with the ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
* A strong commitment to safety and high emotional intelligence
Experience working in remote mining environments will be highly regarded.
