Exploration Manager – Archaean Gold | Southern Cross | Site-Based

Our client is seeking an experienced Exploration Manager to lead exploration and resource definition activities at a producing gold operation in the Southern Cross region of Western Australia.

This is a senior, site-based leadership role with full accountability across a large Archaean gold tenement package. The position offers the opportunity to drive exploration strategy, deliver resource growth, and directly influence mine planning and long-term asset value.

The role will lead end-to-end exploration programs, from target generation through to drilling, modelling, and resource conversion, while managing budgets, teams, and contractors in an active mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute short, medium, and long-term exploration strategies
• Lead target generation, ranking, and drill program design
• Manage and deliver exploration and resource definition programs
• Drive conversion of resources from Inferred to Indicated
• Oversee geological modelling and interpretation
• Manage exploration budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team
• Manage contractors, consultants, and service providers
• Work closely with technical services and operations to support mine planning
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology (postgraduate advantageous)
• Strong experience in Archaean gold systems, ideally within the Yilgarn
• Proven background in generative exploration and resource definition
• Experience managing end-to-end exploration programs
• Strong geological modelling capability (Leapfrog, Datamine, Micromine or Surpac)
• High-level GIS capability (ArcGIS preferred)
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a site-based environment
• Strong understanding of WA mining legislation and compliance
• Commercial mindset with experience managing exploration budgets
