Our client is a respected community-based organisation providing culturally secure, trauma-informed healing and support services to Aboriginal people, children, young people and families. The organisation is committed to improving social and emotional wellbeing and working collaboratively with communities and service providers.

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

• A tertiary qualification in Psychology or Social Work, a Diploma in Counselling, or a minimum of five years’ relevant experience in a similar field.
• Demonstrated experience working with children and young people, particularly within family and domestic violence or a similar service environment.
• Experience supporting vulnerable children and families, including those experiencing disadvantage, risk or complex circumstances.
• A strong understanding of Aboriginal Terms of Reference and demonstrated cultural competency.
• Experience providing trauma-informed, evidence-based individual and/or group counselling.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, families, government agencies and community service providers.
• Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a client caseload effectively.
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Competence with Microsoft applications and client databases, including maintaining accurate case notes and records.
• A valid driver’s licence, National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check.
