  • Live and work in sunny Cairns, QLD
  • Major Tier 1 Building Project
  • Role commencing end of Jan 2027- Enjoy your Christmas break and then start the new year in a great new role.

An opportunity is available for an experienced Project HSE Manager to join a major Tier 1 building project in Cairns.

This is a senior site-based position responsible for leading HSE across a large-scale, complex construction project, working closely with project leadership and construction teams to drive safety performance and ensure effective HSE delivery throughout the project.

The Opportunity

  • Lead the project HSE function and oversee day-to-day HSE delivery.

  • Develop, implement and maintain project HSE plans, systems and procedures.

  • Provide strategic HSE advice and support to project leadership.

  • Drive safety performance, risk management and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee incident management, investigations and corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and project requirements.

  • Lead and support the site HSE team.

  • Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, supervisors and construction teams.

The Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a senior HSE role on major building construction projects ($400m +)

  • Background working with Tier 1 contractors on large-scale commercial or complex building projects.

  • Experience managing HSE across large, multi-disciplinary construction teams.

  • Strong understanding of construction risk management, safety systems and legislative requirements.

  • Ability to engage with senior project leadership while maintaining a practical, site-focused approach.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

*Healthcare or similarly complex building project experience will be highly regarded*
