HSE Advisor
The Opportunity
Seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a major civil construction project at Greenbushes.
Working closely with supervisors, project personnel and the client, you will play a key role in driving a positive safety culture while ensuring compliance with site requirements, legislative obligations and company safety standards. This is a hands-on site-based role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships, coaching operational teams and leading safety by example.
Key Responsibilities
- This is a local DIDO position: accommodation is not provided – Applicants must be based within driving distance of site.
- Conduct regular site inspections, workplace audits and field leadership interactions.
- Prepare and review project-specific SWMS, CRAWs and other safety documentation.
- Facilitate daily pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Investigate incidents using the ICAM methodology and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with site procedures, client requirements and WHS legislation.
- Maintain project safety documentation, records and reporting.
- Provide practical WHS advice and support to supervisors and project personnel.
- Coach and mentor employees in safe work practices and hazard identification.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and proactive risk management.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, supervisors and project stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Safety Advisor within civil construction or mining.
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher).
- Lead ICAM Investigator qualification.
- Strong understanding of WA and National WHS legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice.
- Current White Card.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Environmental Green Card.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office and safety management systems experience.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently facilitate meetings and engage with site personnel.
- Excellent organisational skills with a proactive, hands-on approach to safety.
