The Exciting Opportunities:

We are seeking a dedicated experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our holistic organisation. Our mission is to empower our community to take responsibility to safeguard their health and wellbeing from before birth to end of life.

The Senior Medical Officer plays a crucial role in the clinical operations team. As a key player in both operational and strategic aspects, the Senior Medical Officer is mainly responsible for overseeing compliance, clinical operations, and procedures, while delivering expert guidance in providing comprehensive and holistic health care services. This role will contribute to, and sometimes lead, efforts in clinical quality and safety, and will promote a culture of organisational reflection and continuous quality improvement.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee primary health care delivery for all ages, guiding a multidisciplinary team to provide culturally responsive care.
  • Train and guide junior doctors in some locations
  • Collaborate with clinic operations to create effective clinical care systems and manage the multidisciplinary workforce.
  • Align clinical staff with current therapeutic protocols and guidelines and provide medical advice and support.
  • Review and enhance clinical governance, incident management, and risk strategies while promoting Aboriginal health worker models.

Oversee staff training, foster learning, manage relationships with stakeholders, and report on performance, including patient care and financial metrics
