Mental Health Clinicians – Youth Services
Positions Available: Mental Health Clinician – Youth Services (Regional Queensland)
Job Type: Full-time

About the Organisation
This role sits within a youth-focused mental health service delivering community-based support to young people aged 12-25 in regional Queensland. Services are delivered using culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches, with a strong focus on early intervention and recovery-oriented care.
The Role
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will support young people experiencing mental health challenges through screening, assessment, and targeted therapeutic interventions. The role involves a mix of centre-based and outreach work, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with families, carers, and community stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting bio-psycho-social and risk assessments
* Delivering evidence-based individual and group-based therapeutic interventions
* Developing collaborative care plans and safety plans
* Providing early intervention and recovery-focused mental health support
* Engaging in community outreach and service coordination
* Working within a flexible, culturally inclusive, youth-friendly environment
* Maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation
* Contributing to data collection, service evaluation, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a skilled and passionate professional committed to improving mental health outcomes for young people in regional communities.
Essential requirements:
* Tertiary qualification in a health-related discipline (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing)
* Current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. AHPRA or AASW)
* Experience working with young people experiencing mental health challenges
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and recovery-oriented practice
* Cultural competency, including experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Additional requirements:
* Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
* National Police Check (within the last 3 months)
* Current driver’s licence
* First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* Up-to-date COVID-19 and role-specific vaccinations
