They are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join their team and contribute to delivering compassionate, recovery-oriented support for individuals experiencing suicidal distress.

The Role

  • Collaborating with crisis services, community support organisations, and other key stakeholders to facilitate referrals and coordinated care.
  • Identifying individuals who require longer-term support and linking them with appropriate community services and supports.
  • Participating in professional development, supervision, mandatory training, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively with peer workers and providing clinical consultation where required.

You’ll work closely with peer support workers and multidisciplinary teams and be a key part of the broader community mental health support network.

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field, with relevant professional registration or eligibility for membership with the appropriate professional body.
  • Demonstrated experience providing assessment, crisis intervention, and evidence-based treatment for individuals experiencing mental health distress in community settings.
  • Understanding of person-centred care, trauma-informed practice, and recovery-oriented approaches, including working respectfully with diverse communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and service partners.
  • Competent computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Willingness to work shift work, including after-hours and weekends where required.

What’s On Offer

In return, our client offers:

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact in suicide prevention and community mental health.
  • Ongoing professional development and supervision.
  • A supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team environment.
  • The chance to work in a purpose-driven role focused on recovery and community wellbeing.
  • 5 weeks paid annual leave per year
  • Isolation & climate allowance
  • Remote Area Housing Assistance Benefits
