Mental Health Nurse – Child & Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS)
Job Type: Full-Time- 3 month contract
Salary: $80 – $86 per hour

Our client is a leading regional health service delivering community-based mental health, alcohol and other drug services. Their Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides evidence-based care to children, adolescents and their families, working collaboratively with hospitals, schools, GPs and community organisations to improve mental health outcomes.

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join a supportive multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
You will provide assessment, treatment and ongoing support to children, adolescents and their families experiencing a range of mental health concerns. Working alongside experienced clinicians, you’ll contribute to recovery-focused care while building strong partnerships with community services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct mental health assessments and participate in the triage of referrals.
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to children, adolescents and their families.
- Assist with risk assessments, safety planning and crisis intervention where required.
- Develop and implement recovery-focused care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Build positive relationships with schools, GPs, hospitals and community support services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and care planning meetings.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and client records.
- Provide education and support to clients, families and carers.
- Contribute to health promotion activities and community education programs.
- Comply with relevant legislation, professional standards and organisational policies.
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Experience working within community mental health and/or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
- Knowledge of child and adolescent mental health assessment and recovery-oriented care.
- Experience supporting clients experiencing acute mental health presentations and behavioural concerns.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- Previous rural, remote or Aboriginal health experience will be highly regarded.
